At Eden Hill Primary School we actively seek opportunities for our students to improve their self-esteem and to develop confidence in their abilities. Our students’ social and emotional well-being is promoted by our focus on positive achievement.
Our Arts program is one of several special programs we offer our students so as to encourage the development of the whole child. Art, Dance, Music and Italian address the creative side of a child’s personality. During 2021 the Music and Dance programmes are offered from Pre Primary through to Year 6; Art is offered to students in Years 1 through to 6 and Italian is taught to students from Year 3 to Year 6. We offer our students numerous opportunities to display their talents with regular assemblies, special performances, school talent quests, visits to other schools, shopping centres, retirement villages and participation in the ACHPER (Australian Council for Health and Physical Education and Recreation) Festival and the WAGSMS (West Australian Government Schools Music Society) evening at Crown Theatre. The school’s dance and band groups for which Year 5 and 6 student’s audition is always popular. In 2013 they were the only non-professional group to perform at the official opening of Children’s week, held at the Heath Ledger State Theatre. These events showcased the exceptional talent of the students and were enjoyed by everyone who attended.
Eden Hill Primary School students from Pre Primary to Year 6 particiapte in Physical Education with our specialised PE teacher each week. Students also enjoy participating in Interschool sporting events. They are involved in seasonal sporting fixtures as well as the traditional interschool Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals. These activities, whilst developing athletic skills, are also promoted to ensure our students develop good sportsmanship.
Everyone in the Eden Hill community is proud of the students’ achievements.
