The student population increased during the late 1940's and early 1950's until by 1956 the school had expanded considerably. Before neighbouring schools in Anzac Terrace and Lockridge opened and reduced student intake, our enrolment had reached 800 children by the middle 1960's. In December of 1989 the school was partly destroyed by a fire and in 2015 we celebrated our centenary with over 470 children and nearly 60 staff.
In 2010 & 2011 the school underwent a great change due to the BER program which added a purpose built Early Childhood facility and a Music and Arts building. These works have been enhanced through funding and support from the Parents' & Citizens' Association, together with the staff and students. We now have many modern facilities and in 2023 our enrolments will be over 400 children in Pre-Primary to Year 6 and 40 kindergarten students in our on-site centres.
