The focus of these lessons will be to acquire, practise, manage and refine Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS). FMS include throwing, catching, running, jumping, hopping, galloping, kicking, balancing, and leaping. They are the basic building blocks of more specialised, complex skills used in organised and non-organised games, sports, and recreational activities.
There will be a progression from Year 1 through to Year 6 with the goal being students in Year 6 will be able to manipulate their FMS and, for example, adjust their force and speed to improve accuracy and control, in organised games.
